Why?

The first is my first blog post so thank you for reading this far.
We live in an era where we are  flooded with great images. And yet we persist in trying to create more. Why is that?  It is strange, and in a way irrational. However, I can explain it very clearly, at least to myself.
We persist because it isnt about creating an image at all. It is about the chance circumstances that allowed me or you to observe something beautiful.  It can be anywhere, It can be huge or very small. For me it is about connecting myself to the world around me instead of simply rushing past.

I have to say I get the greatest joy in finding I have captured something special though. There is also the joy in setting out to take some pictures whether a short journey or a very long one, There are the small chance happenings that provide a great light on a beach you love, or a bee in a brilliant orange blossum. Wonderful clouds, the way the wind is blowing making the water smooth, a storm blowing in, the tide, the time of day, the bush its flowers, and its animals. Have I explained why I do this?
